Why you need to start investing in the cloud

Market estimates clearly show that SMBs to drive public cloud adoption in the coming years, but why?

Two elements must be taken into account with regard to the Cloud computing and are: Dynamically scalable and multitenant (multi-tenant).

What is the difference?

  • The scalable one: can be scaled up or down according to customer demand. This allows pooling of resources across multiple customers (i.e., multi-company) to help reduce variability in demand patterns.

  • On the other hand, Resources as a service, is based on the idea that consumers of resources are charged for consumption on a variable, pay-as-you-go, not pay-as-you-go basis.

Are you an SME looking for the best solution to manage your business in the cloud?

We are here to offer it to you

There are 3 service models:

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Infrastructure as a Service. Provides resources with computer processing capabilities, storage and network infrastructure. The user does not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure, but has control over the systems running on top of the infrastructure.

  • Platform as a service (PaaS): platforms as a service. Enables the design, development, testing or implementation of applications as services for end-consumers. Users of PaaS offerings can use specific programming languages or frameworks and tools to deploy applications in the cloud infrastructure.

  • Software as a Service (SaaS): or Software as a Service, provides software and technology solutions over the Internet, as a service. With this model, your company does not need to install, maintain and update hardware and software. The underlying responsibilities for software installation and maintenance lie with the SaaS provider (i.e. us). Of particular note are customer relationship management (CRM) applications from Salesforce.com and personal productivity application packages such as Google Docs, Microsoft Office 365 and Zoho, in which Adderit is a specialist.

Cloud-based services

  • Public Cloud:  is an infrastructure that is available to the general public and is owned by a large cloud service provider. The information is off-premises and placed in other data stores: Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), IBM's Blue Cloud, Sun Cloud, Google AppEngine, and Windows Azure Services Platform.

  • Private Cloud: works only for a single company or organization. It allows for self-service, scalability and elasticity) but with the control and customization available on dedicated resources through a hosted IT infrastructure in the local environment.

  • Hybrid Cloud: cómo se puede deducir por su nombre, combina nubes públicas y privadas. Some workloads are processed in public cloud infrastructure, while others run in private clouds. It is designed to combine your infrastructure on demand.

Pero, ¿por qué deberías empezar a invertir en la nube?

Aparte ser un entorno mucho más seguro y práctico, cabe destacar:

  • Higher profit and ROI: really, companies moving to the cloud make more money. Small and medium-sized companies that invest in the cloud report up to 25% growth in revenues and up to twice as much profit as those that don't. Embracing the cloud is simply a better path to faster growth.

  • Lower costs and CapEx: The cloud subscription models eliminate upfront capital expenditures (CapEx) such as the high cost of hardware and software licenses for projects such as ERP software implementations. Also eliminate installation, upgrade and maintenance fees for the server and infrastructurenot to mention the resources saved in software upgrades, energy costs and underutilized computing resources.

  • Improved collaboration and productivity: the cloud service provides the opportunity to collaborate more effectively and eliminate data silos to enable greater employee productivity. Además, permite a las empresas ofrecer acuerdos de flexible work flows that creates healthier work / life balance and happier employees without sacrificing productivity.

  • Superior security and data protection: A very important aspect for any size of business, but this especially affects small businesses, which are often the most common victims of lack of security. In a recent study over 40% of small businesses were concerned about data security before moving to the cloud. After making the switch, 94% of the companies reported security benefits that they had not been able to achieve with their previous local resources. In addition, by store and back up data in the cloud, data is available and protected no matter what happens with personal devices.

  • Increased competitiveness: Moving to the cloud provides SMEs acceso a tecnologías de clase empresarial que anteriormente solo estaban disponibles para los grandes de la industria. Con la nube, cualquier empresa can run on exactly the same systems used by the world's largest and most sophisticated companieswhich will allows you to innovate and act faster than your competitors that manage local legacy systems.

In conclusion, the cloud software now available is specially designed so that SMBs run their sales, marketing, service, accounting, operations, supply chain and project management activities from a single solution connected with AI and advanced analytics. There has never been a better time for small and medium-sized businesses to move to the cloud.

And a lot, a lot more.
